#65 - 걱정하다

#65 - 걱정하다

In today’s blog, we will learn the adjective 걱정하다 which is to be worried or concerned.

문제가 심각해서 걱정해요 = The problem is serious so I’m worried.

What are some concerns or worries we normally speak of?

학점이 안 좋을까 봐 걱정이다 = I’m worried that my grades won’t be good

비 오면 진짜 안 되는데 걱정이에요 = It can’t rain, (but) i’m worried (it might).

치료 받고있으니까 너무 걱정 말아요 = She’s receiving treatment so don’t worry too much

돈에 없는데 일도 안잡혀서 걱정이 태산이다 =I don’t have money and can’t find a job, so i have a mountain full of worries.

걱정이 태산이다 is an Korean Idiom which literally translates to: A concern is a high and steep mountain. But it actually just implies that “one has big concern.”.

걱정 is also in a proverb - 걱정도 팔자(다) which translates to: worrying is one's destiny. It means to worry about something that is insignificant.

What other proverbs or idioms can you think of?
