#67 - 졸려요

In today’s blog, we will learn the phrase 졸려요 which means to be sleepy. Let’s also learn some other words related to sleeping in Korean.


잠 =Sleep

자다 =To Sleep

주무시다 = To sleep (honorific)

졸다 =Doze off

졸리다 =Sleepy

수면부족 = Lack of sleep

안방 =Bedroom

수면 시간 = Sleeping hours

잘 자다 =Sleep well

잘자 =Sleep tight

굿밤 = Goodnight (good-bam)

좋은 밤 되세요 = Have a good night

침대 = bed

매트리스 = mattress

베개 = pillow

담요 = blanket

야광등=night light

낮잠 = a nap

불면증 = insomnia

푹자다= to sleep well

숙면하다 = to sleep well

코를 골다  = to snore


Do note that when speaking to elders, instead of saying 잘 잤어요? (did you sleep well), you should use the honorific version (주무시다) = 잘 주무셨습니까? 잘 주무셨나요?.
