#57 - 지키다

In today’s blog, we will learn the phrase 지키다.


지키다 means to protect, guard or keep something intact. It can mean both physically and mentally. 


Here are different forms of 지키다:

지키다 = Basic form ‘protect’

지켜요 = to protect

지킬게요 = I’ll protect

지켜야 해요 = have to protect

지켜줘요 = Please protect (me)

 

Let’s learn them together with example sentences below:


규칙을 지키다 = Follow the rules.

오빠가 동생을 지켜요 =Older brother protects his younger sister.

내가 널 지킬게 = I’ll protect you

개인위생을 지켜야 해요 = I have to keep personal hygiene.

오빠 지켜주세요! = Oppa, protect me please!
