In today’s blog we will be learning the verb 결심하다.

 

Stemming from chinese character 한자 - 決心 which means to determine your heart.

 

Koreans use this verb mostly when pledging, committing or having a resolution to something.

올해의 결심은 살 빼기 입니다! = My resolution is to lose weight this year!

 

여자친구랑 헤어진걸로 결심했어요 = I’ve decided to break up with my girlfriend 

 

공부 열심히 할거에요! 결심했어요! = I’m going to study hard, I am committed!

 

포기 하지마세요, 결심하면 모든 일이 가능해요! = Don’t give you, if you are determined, anything’s possible!
